LOOKING FOR SOLUTION:
CISCO SWITCH12 PORT SFP+ 10G METRO ETHERNET
Hi this is my first post so hope it is placed appropriately.
I'm currently looking for 12port SFP+ 10g switch with Metro Ethernet capability.
Struggling to find more than 2 ports on ME switches.
Thank you.

Those not "ME" switches, depending on your feature needs, the 4500-X or the 6840 might be suitable.

Hi Julio,
Thank you for the link.
It directs me to the WS-C3650 and WS-C3850 range which provides the required 10G SFP+ ports but I am at loss with finding info on Metro Ethernet capability.
Thank you.

Hi
I dont think the 3650 support 12 SFP ports, but the 3850's they do. I am not really sure if the ME models were replaced by. 6500 or 6800, the following links could be useful:
About the SW 3850 you can find several models:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/switches/catalyst-3850-series-switches/models-comparison.html
Switches models:

Try to find them under Service provider switches - aggregation/ethernet access:

Hope it is useful

Hi Joseph,
Thank you for your reply.
One of the primary requests are for additional 10g ports 12ports or above (12 PORT SFP+ 10G) and then Metro Ethernet.
Would the below provide "ME" ?? Not so well versed with these unfortunately.

Again, it depends on your "ME" feature needs.
"ME" switches are often enhanced versions of LAN non-chassis switches. Their enhancements may include additional or "better" software and/or hardware feature. For example they may provide more advanced QoS, MPLS support, increase interface buffer capacity, etc.
The 4500 and 6x00 chassis, depending on IOS feature set, usually provide "ME" features too.
So, again, besides your need for 10g ports, you need to identify what "ME" feature you need, if any, and then you can answer your question whether a particular switch will meet your needs.
(BTW, its also possible you don't need "ME" features, and if you don't, then other non-chassis Catalyst switches might also be candidates.)
