Hello everyone,

I'd like to know if anyone has ran into the following log msg:

%SYS-4-P2_WARN: 1/Traffic from permanent host MAC but seen on incorrect port PORT

Ive searched CISCO and found out that this is logged when the switch sees its own ARP packet flooded back from a neighbor switch.

The problem is that this BUG should not be harmful. But Im having problems pinging the device to which MAC appears in this log.

It seems to me that the ARP request is not going back to the router (or distribution layer switch).

Not sure if this was clear enough, please let me know.

After clearing CAM table , problem was gone.

It seems that port security sticked the MAC in the interface.

Hello Vlad

I think you are hitting the bug CSCed13361.. is it a 4500 u are using ? I think the only way to get rid of this is to do a IOS upgrade, since this is a solved caveat...

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps4324/prod_release_note09186a00801a162e.html

Hope this helps. let us know if this is what you required !!
