mac-address notification

I would like to track a certain mac address on my switch whether it has been dynamically remove or added.

I understand that there is a command to enable mac address notification, but is there a way to log the messages on the console (syslog) instead of snmp.

Will it cause any memory if this is indeed possible?

Hi
you can just turn on mac notification to see the moves and then setup a syslog server point the switch to it , it will send them to that if that's what you mean , if you just want to see them on the local switch console , just type logging console if connected directly or terminal monitor if coming in over vty lines to view it on your local screen , if you want to block things going into logs in buffer you can use a discriminator and match by the message body

logging discriminator ACL101
logging discriminator ACL msg-body drops list 101
logging buffered 100000
logging console critical
logging trap debugging
logging source-interface x/x
logging host x.x.x.x

Hello,

in addition to Mark's suggestions, if you are looking for a specific MAC address, you could use an EEM script that runs at certain intervals to check for that MAC address. Would that be an option ?
