Hi All,

Please advise on the below. We are receving  alert as below

%RTD-1-ADDR_FLAP:FastEthernet 2/1 relearning x addrs per min

Can please explain what is the term relearning means?

Is my below understanding correct?

Say there are 2 ports connect in the switch to other switch.2/1 and 2/2

The mac address is initially in 2/2(Different port) is now found on 2/1.

So it will release the mac address on the port 2/2 and put it the cam table for 2/1?

Thanks

Hello ,

It normally means STP loops and  MAC addresses are learned once on a port. Occasionally, when a switched network reconfigures, due to either manual or STP reconfiguration, addresses learned on one port are relearned on a different port.

track down the mac address and if that server is having dual NIC with teaming configration then better to ask server team to do active/passive teaming for solution.

Hope it Helps..
