Question regarding mac aging time.
On a core switch such as a 6500 is there a best practice and benefit to configuring the mac aging time other than the default of 300 seconds? I have heard it is best to up this to say 84600 of there abouts.
Thanks

One of the things that springs to mind with setting mac-aging is to avoid unicast flooding. Have at look at this following document and specifically at the "Asymmetric Routing" section -
