This is probably a silly question but i am confused, which MAC Address is smaller
1111.1111.941a or 1111.1111.9413

hi,
leo is correct but let me expound a bit.
MAC address can be represented in hexadecimal characters which is from 0-F, with 0 as the lowest and F as the highest.
therefore, in your case, the last hex character 'A' (which is 10 in decimal) is greater than 3.

So when choosing a root switch, 1111.1111.9413 would be the root?

yes, if there's no switch priority set the lower MAC address is preferred the root.
