MAC, CAM and Switch port

what happens when a host’s MAC address is learned on one switch port, and then

the host moves so that it appears on a different switch port?I read and what I know, the old port is deleted then it will be learend on the new port.

but on switching book, it says the CAM would prevent the same MAC to be learned on new port, because the MAC is unique until the aging time ends.

any help to get that confusion ??

Hi,

As soon as you disconnect the host from the first port it was plugged into the switch should clear the entry on the CAM table, the aging time is for situations on which the switch doesn't hear back from the host even when the line and protocol are up on the interface.
