Make Trunk Negotiation Static makes it (Suspended)

Hi guys,

For a stig Checklist I need to be able to do:

"#show interfaces switchport"

and when I do that my trunk ports need to be non-negotiating.

if I type switchport nonegotiate my port becomes suspended.

Not sure why this would be happening. Any ideas?

Hi,

Did you add the command to both sides of the link? There maybe a mismatch and that is why the port becomes suspended.

Can you post the config of both switches with any identifying information removed? That would help in sighting in the exact issue.

if there is no parameter mismatch on either side, what sometimes help is defaulting the interface(s):

default interface x

and rebuilding the trunk from scratch.
