cisco ME-3600X-24FS-M

Cisco IOS Software, ME360x Software (ME360x-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.3(1)S,

We are experiencing some rather strange behaviour on our ME3600.

brief example.

Source ip address 128.1.33.148 - ping 10.12.42.11 sucessful and can navigate to device webpage.

Source ip address 128.1.33.148 - ping 10.12.42.12 unsucessful

Source ip address 128.1.33.148 - ping 10.12.42.1 unsucessful (gw address of above)

Source ip address 128.1.33.103 - ping 10.12.42.11 unsucessful.

Source ip address 128.1.33.103 - ping 10.12.42.12 sucessful and can navigate to device webpage.

Source ip address 128.1.33.103 - ping 10.12.42.1 unsucessful.

We are seeing this on a number of 10.12.x.x addresses, and 10.30.x.x, some sources can reach, others cant, and its exactly reversed.

Traceroute for sucessful pings show exactly what I expect to see traversing the network.

Traceroute for unsucessful pings get stuck at the ME3600.

So some source ip's working, some not. All the source addresses I have tested go through the same hardware before reaching the 3600, a 2960.

A reload will clear this issue, but only temporarily.

Any assistance greatfully received.

Make sure proxy arp and icmp redirects are disabled on all routing devices.

Possibly a duplicate IP address.  You would need to look at the ARP cache for an affected device when it is working and when it is not.  If the MAC address changes you have a duplicate IP address.
