Media convertor not connect

Hi all,

Please see this image:

In "Real environment" Fiber port of 'switch 1' is broken. For this reason,I used a media converter. but after connect fiber patch cord,led of media converter not turn on (except cat 6 and power) and ports of two switch is not connect.

I guessed media converter is destroyed.

For this reason I tested many media converter with other switch(except core switch),In "Test environment". But again led of media converter not turn on(except cat 6 and power) and ports of switch not connect.

note:

1. power led and cat 6 led of media converter is turn on(except led fiber).

2.I tested many patch cord as SM,MM

3.in "test environment" if deleted media converter and connect switch 1,2 with cat 6,ports connected (trunk).

4.all switch in test environment are healthy.

Hi,

A few items to look at:

1-Make sure the optic on the MC matches the one on the switch. If the switch optic is MM, the MC optic also needs to be MM if it is SM, the MC needs to be SM.

2-If everything matches and still not working, try to switch the fiber strands on ONE side of the connection and test again.

3-You may also have bad MC as well. The best place to get them is:

1. i used and tested SM,MM but not solved.

2. also i replaced two strings of patch cord but not solved

3. I tested many MC and unlikely all is destroyed

another tip:
1. core switch is 10g,switch 1 is gig and switch 1 is fast

As long as each 2 end points are the same speed, you are ok.

In another test environment i used only two switch.Core switch and switch1.

As regard MC was 1000 base,apparently fast port of switch1 was problem.beause i used a gig port of switch and led of MC were turned on.
