Module 11 installation makes this system non-NEBS compliant !!!??

Hi all,

Has any one seen a message similar to this one before ?

It started happening after I reboot my chassis during a IOS upgrade.

Until then everything was working as expected.

This is basically my configuration:

6513 chassis

Redundant WS-CAC-6000W power suplies

Redundant sup WS-SUP720-3B

WS-X6716-10GE

Plus some other line cards.

I also have a WS-C6K-13SLT-FAN2 fan tray just in case people ask.

I've re-sit this module just in case there was a bad contact, no luck so far.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions that might help address this issue.

Kind regards,

Nelson

Hi Nelson,

I don't think that the 6513 is NEBS compliment anyway.  Only 6509-V-E is NEBS compliment

What is installed in module 11?

Hi Reza,

Thanks for the reply, slot 11 has a WS-X6716-10GE module.

I realize that a 6513 chasis is not NEBS compliant, but that doesn't prevent using a WS-X6716-10GE card in it as long as I use a WS-C6K-13SLT-FAN2 fan tray with it in the chassis. This is according to the IOS release notes http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/release/notes/hardware.html.

By the way, I'm running  12.2(33)SXI4a.

Regards,

Nelson

Correct, it will not you prevent you from using a WS-X6716-10GE E

Is your WS-X6716-10GE copper of fiber?

Reza

Fiber.
