Module error on WS-C6509-E

hi , 

Some of the module on WS-C6509-E has the status of MajFail and port down , just wondering what these mean and if anyone has a solution to troubleshoot this . would it have any impact on a live network ? Thank you

 There is some diagnostics  command you can run here is this guide

But, last time I got this problem I had a tac opened and they ask me to unpplug and plug the board. Which I did but the message did not go away so I did RMA.  Luckly I replace the switch right after.
