MTU configuration change is not supported on L2 interfaces error on Nexus

I receive MTU configuration change is not supported on L2 interfaces on a pair of nexus 35k for some reason. I am able do the "mtu X" command under other trunk interfaces on different Nexus switches. Anyone know what the problem is?

Can you post the config and the error message you are getting?

As per my understanding  these ports are part of port-channel is this correct ?

 if the interface already participated in port-channel you will not be able to see this command.

change the mtu setting in port-channel will have effective configuration on the participated interface.

Make sense ?
