Hi All
I have a phone in vlan 20 and a recording server in vlan 43. The phone sends out multicast audio traffic which then needs to be captured/stored by the recording server. The recording server unable to capture/store any audio from the phone, but if I connect the server directly to vlan20 then it works fine. So i think its the issue with multicast routing between the vlan's.
I believe i just need to enable "ip multicast routing" in the switches to forward the multicast traffic between vlans or do i need to do any more config for this to work?

Hello
As you noted you need to enable ip multicast routing for the device to be able to route multicast traffic between VLANs. Furthermore you need to enable PIM on each of the L3 vlan interface - ether ip pim dense-mode or sparse mode. If you configure sparse mode you need an RP as well.

Hi @Psmurali89
What is the switch model? Which license it have? Are you sure this traffic is multicast? If you are trying to record phone calls to this phone, I am not sure this would be send via multicast.
