Multicast configuration

Hi!

I'm trying to get the good configuration for multicast routing and IGMP.

See attached diagram.

I have a source in VLAN 25 and clients in VLAN 4, routing throught the C3750X L3 switch, with 2 C2960X switches as L2.

I'm not sure If I got it correctly for Sparse-mode and IGMP.

I'm targetting for 224.0.1.129

Thanks for your guidance!

Config for C3750X:

ip multicast-routing distributed

interface Loopback1
ip address 2.1.1.1 255.255.255.255
ip pim sparse-mode
!

interface Vlan4
ip address 192.168.4.2 255.255.255.0
ip pim sparse-mode
standby 1 ip 192.168.4.1
standby 1 priority 110
standby 1 preempt delay minimum 30
end

!
interface Vlan25
ip address 192.168.25.1 255.255.255.0
ip pim sparse-mode
end

Standard IP access list RP_PIM
10 permit 224.0.1.129

ip pim rp-address 2.1.1.1 RP_PIM
ip pim autorp listener
ip pim bsr-candidate Loopback1 1
ip pim rp-candidate Loopback1

Config on both C2960X:

Global:

ip igmp snooping querier

Hi,

In order to do multicast on 3750x series switches, you need "IP Services" license.  Do you have the right license installed?

hi,

i have seven(7) 2960s switches connected in star topology, this is use to set up a Pelco camera, viewing from different workstations on vlan 1.Thia camera always show multicast failed and camera cannot be connected to video source.when i contected PELCO OEM,they said i should configure multicast on my core switch(192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0)

the basic configuration i did earlier was to enable query since the igmp is enabled by default on the core switch. Also configure the core as a dhcp switch for the cameras.while the rest of the switches have IGMP enable and configure to be on Vlan1 as well.

my question how do i configure multicast on these switches to have a good streaming.
