Multicast issue

Nexus Hi Everyone,

I have a nexus 7k switch pair setup as distribution switches. There're few Cat9300 switches that connected to this pair thru vPC setup, we have multicast network setup on the Nexus switches, there about 100 cameras connected to multiple cat9300 switches and they're working fine. Today, there're  5 new cameras that connected to the same cat9300 switch. 4 cameras are working fine but one has been giving pixelation/lagging images, we tested this camera by plugging it directly into the laptop, it worked just fine before plugged it in the cat9300 switch. We even plugged the camera into the different port of the cat9300 switch but still has the same issue. From Nexus switch, below is the output of the issued camera in the mroute:

Central_N7k# sh ip mroute 239.10.8.152 detail

(172.16.23.15/32, 239.10.8.152/32), uptime: 16:38:29, ip(0) mrib(0) pim(0)
Data Created: Yes
VPC Flags
RPF-Source Forwarder
Stats: 15379/887147 [Packets/Bytes], 95.42 bps
Stats: Active Flow
Incoming interface: Vlan25, RPF nbr: 172.16.23.15, uptime: 16:38:29
Outgoing interface list: (count: 0)

Central_N7k#

I have couple questions:

What is causing the pixelation on the camera?

Is there a Nexus command to check the multicast UDP port which is mapped to the multicast address of this camera?

Thank you.

Hello @tinhnnho,

check the access switch port on the C9300

verify with show interface type x/y if the port is working in full duplex or not.

This is more likely the issue.

To see the UDP port used by the camera you can use a local SPAN session on the Cat9300 with source port = port connecting to camera destination port a port where you connect a laptop with wireshark running.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hi,

From CLI, the 'Show int g1/0/25' shows:

Full-duplex, 100Mb/s, media type is 10/100/1000BaseTX

the port is full-duplex as default.

Hello,

OK if you look at

show interface g1/0/25

there are any counters of errors incrementing over time?

either input or output errors ?

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hi,

There is no error of input or output at all. And it still has the same issue.

Thanks.
