What's the difference between ingress and egress multicast replication on the 6500 switches? Two of the switches we're using have Firewall modules in them which do not support egress replication, but our ethernet modules do, so the replication fails back to ingress. I know I can force it to egress replication, but what's the difference between the two? I can't really find any good documentation on it other then egress is newer. :)

Thanks, I actually read that document before which is what actually raised the question for me. I guess my question is then what's the difference between these two commands? Or are they both required to enable egress replication?
mls ip multicast replication-mode egress
mls ip multicast egress local
