Dears
We are going to Implement MRP ring on our site (between 50-60 buildings). We planned 2 MRP rings as shown in drawing.
Red lines MRP Ring 2 connections. Blue lines MRP ring 1 connection. Green line Shared interface in both MRP 1 and 2.
How can I configure MRP shared interfaces (Green lines?) Do I need to make separate connection for each ring, instead of shared interfaces?
Can you please advice if it will work or not. I just wondering, on loop on double connected switches. since these are in same MRP ring, it will cause loop at there? If yes, what is best way to make multiple MRP rings (some switches participates both of Ring 1 and 2).
All switches are Cisco IE4000, Ie4010 and IE5000 switches.

Hello,
as far as I recall, you can assign only 1 MRP ring to an individual interface, so in order for this to work, you need to configure ring 1 and ring 2 on different interfaces. Since spanning tree BPDUs are not sent on MRP-enabled ports, your topology should be loop free.
Obviously don't forget about the special licensing requirements in order to run multiple rings.

Thank you,
So you prefer to build it as below in marked area?

Hi, and how about 5 separated rings on a main switch, can we configure as MRP or better a RSTP?
How many switchs can carry the whole MRP rings in maximum? or no limits?
Thanks
