I need to allocate multiple virtual IP addresses (different subnets) to a host on the network. How do I configure the 6513 switch to allow traffic over the single vlan to any of the IP addresses on the host?
example:
Host: 192.168.1.10 / 24
Host (virtual IP Address): 172.16.1.10 /16
The Host is connected to port 5/8 on the 6513 switch. The switch port is configured to be a member of Vlan 102 (192.168.1.0 subnet)
Thanks.
If the host has to be in a single vlan then if the switch supports it you can use secondary addressing on the L3 vlan interface.
Alternatively if the host NIC supports 802.1q you can configure the connection to the switch as a trunk and have multiple vlans running over the link.
