@Jaydn Teoh,

ok, first on your Murdoc ROuter this is Gi0/0 to connect to HeadSwitch, not Gig0/1

Then add the command on your murdock Router -- MurdochD(config)#service dhcp

Also the config of access port on your switches is not good. For example here:

Put this config:

M02rt37_1-1687248364375.png

It's should be good:

Hi

 If this is a PacketTracer project,  would be easier if you attach it here. You just need to zip the file first.

Here's my pkt file

Hello @Jaydn Teoh,

Have you got a network topology to show us?

@Flavio Miranda, talk about paket tracer too. It should be easier for us to help you.

Thanks.

Here's my topology. Thankyou for responding.

Hi @Jaydn Teoh

  Did you got this to work?

 I have found some problems on the file you attached and it would not be possible it to work. Just check on you if you fixed or maybe I got the wrong file.

 For example, you configured the interface Gi0/0 but you connected the switch into interface Gi0/1. But, I see other issues also.

Hi, I did get this to work. I have found that there are a few problems with the vlans. I did the right configurations for the vlan and changed the interface to g0/0. after that everything worked fine.

Great!

use ip helper command to distribute ip addresses via dhcp

Hello @Wizard4777,

no need of ip helper address in this case. Sw L2 do the job with the broadcast due to DHCP meassages.

You need ip help address or relay dhcp if this broadcast messages have to pass throught Router ; because Router drop broadcast. Then with this command on a routeur, your broadcast is "convert" to unicast packet.

I did #sh ip dhcp pool command on my switch and it shows that nothing is connected. Means that my switch is not connected to the router?

hey thank for replying, do you mean i should connect fast ethernet to gigabit?

@Jaydn Teoh,

Look Giga interfaces on your Murdoc Router. Giga0/1 is the bad one, you need to connect the giga0/0 to the HeadSwitch.
