N5K link encyption - HELP!!!

We have bought N5548UP switches which were meant to connect to N7000 switch and have line rate link encryption on it. It turns out N7K supports MACSec but N5K does not 😞

However, N5K does support trustsec and the config guide is somewhat confusing in regards to whether it can support encryption on the link with cts manual. 

Is there a way link encryption can be achieved on this link between N5K and N7K without having to invest in additional hardware?
