Dear N7K expert,
We are using N7K switch in our lab for performance testing, I have a issue that I couldn't figure out why, hope someone can help.
Basically I found sometimes when I configure a port as trunked port, then add vlans to this port, but it seems that port still doesn't belongs to those vlan if I use "show vlan id xx". I'm using 5.1.5 software release, here's my config and command output:
Demo-7K# show run int eth 9/18
!Command: show running-config interface Ethernet9/18
!Time: Wed Oct 12 04:34:40 2011
version 5.1(5)
interface Ethernet9/18
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk allowed vlan 163,203
spanning-tree bpdufilter enable
no shutdown

I'm running 5.2.1 and do see my trunks in my 'show vlan id x' output...but check to see if you see those vlans carried on the trunk "show int e9/18 trunk". I know in most IOS switches we don't put trunk links in the 'show vlan' output.
I can't downgrade mine to 5.1.5 right now to see if i see the same behavior as you or not.
Also is that trunk link up and passing traffic?

Thanks Chad, yes I can see my other trunked ports in "show vlan id xx", the link is up and doesn't pass any traffic. The strange thing is I have two ports behave like this, and both ports used to work before, and suddently stop passing traffic. Troubleshooting shows they are not belong to any vlans any more.
