We use network scanner to find any vulnerability in ios..Just have doubt regarding,if something we get only using network scanner(say some traceback on switch),does it mean that there exist a real case scenario(without network scanner) in which we can again see that(though we might not be able to determine that scenario).
I don;t know if the question makes sense ...never used network scanner.

Not sure exactly what you are asking but with network scanners they often report things that in practical terms are not an issue. There is a certain amount of guesswork involved when running a scanner and it will always err on the side of caution rather than not report it.
Vulnerability scanners also tend to do this. So it may be that you get a report that is not relevant, a bit like a false positive with an IDS/IPS.

Hmm..Thanks Jon...Looks like i should start using network scanner..Any recommendations ?..I googled it,but got lot of info and lot of different types of network scanners.
