Newcomer to Networking

Good evening, 

     I'm rather new to computer networking and I don't know a lot of things yet. I'm coming here because I hear this is a good resource for information. Can anyone tell me where I can find information on how to remote authenticate login credentials for a switch via an LDAP server, or is that possible? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the response! Switch model is a Cisco NX-OS switch. I will have to look at the IOS version tomorrow though as I am no longer in my office....
