hi experts i am from cisco partner company i need to know that can i have layer 3 services like routing protocol on nexsus 5000 or nexsus 7000 switch .

The Nexus 5000 is currently layer 2 only while the nexus 7000 is layer2/3.

Geoff 1 more querry as i read one document about NX-OS 4.1 and it say's that we can configure routing protocols ...and layer 3 services. i just need to make sure if i configure NX-OS 4.1 on nexsus 5000 can i have layer 3 services or NX-OS serve layer 3 services only on nexsus 7000 ....... kindly help me to remove this confusion

The Nexus 5000 doesn't currently support layer 3 services - it's hard to tell what the future holds, but right now the 5000 is only layer 2. Even thought its running the 4.1 code, routing won't be available:
