877W IOS version and config

Hello everyone,

I've got a few questions re 877W:

- I want to make sure that 12.4(24)T is the latest and the right one for 877W

- the 877W should support PPPoA (for UK broadband) but I've got there only PPPoE - do I need additional ADSL firmware (eg adsl_alc_20190.bin.4.0.15) or another IOS?

- can I configure one of the LAN interfaces as external with VPN? In some situations I need to connect the router to existing LAN, get IP address and create VPN tunnel.

hi Phil,

12.4.24T is indeed the latest version, afaik this version has the latest dsl firmware onboard. I wouldnt worry too much about this one.

There's no concept of lan or wan ports on this router, so it all depends on what you want to setup. :)
