Next hop in ip routing at CE router is not pinging

In my company when I check at CE router, there is some static routing is done on a vrf but the next hope address is not pinging. Neither I am able to see where this next hop address lies. How can I check this IP's interface or where this IP resides in the network.

Have you executed the ping under the VRF, example:

ping vrf TEST 1.1.1.1 

Also you can execute show cdp neighbors to see your neighbor IP
