Nexus 1000v - Need Assistance

Hi Team,

As of now we are using version 4.2(1)SV1(4a) on Nexus 1000v, Plan to upgrade Version 4.2.(1) SV2

we would like to know the procedure.

Please guide us.

Hi Team,

We are going to upgrade Nexus 1000v only but in the procedure I can see Step (2) got three Options.

Can you please explain about it? How to verify ESXI (or) VUM-based (or) Stateful manual

Upgrading the Cisco Nexus 1000V Only

You must complete the following procedures to upgrade the Cisco Nexus 1000V only.

1. Upgrade the VSM. See VSM Upgrade Procedures.
2. Upgrade the VEM.
   • For Stateless ESXi, see Installing the VEM Software on a Stateless ESXi Host.
   • For a VUM-based upgrade of a Stateful ESX or ESXi, use a host upgrade baseline with the VEM depot. See Upgrading the ESXi Hosts to Release 5.1.
   • For a stateful manual upgrade using the esxupdate or esxcli commands, see Installing ESXi 5.1 Host Software Using the CLI.
