Nexus 5000 in-band management

Hello all,

I'm about to deploy 2 Nexus 5000s. At this point, we're still in testing and I stumbled on following issue.

The 2 Nexus 5000 will have some switches connected via VPC. At this point we have a switch connected to VPC, but the link to the second Nexus is down because we are missing patch cables. So we have

nexus1 ---- nexus2

     \

      \

      switch

I'm behind this switch in VLAN10.

Nexus1 is the primary, Nexus2 the secondary.

If I do a telnet to the in-band address on VLAN10 of Nexus1, no problem, this works.

However, if I try to do a telnet to the in-band address on VLAN10 of Nexus2, this doesn't work.

VLAN10 is spanning all over the place, interfaces are up.

If I check the arp table on Nexus2 for VLAN10, I only see its own IP-MAC address.

If I check the arp table on Nexus1 for VLAN10, I can see the IP-MAC address for Nexus2 but no ping, telnet... is working from him to Nexus2.

Is there a valid explenation for this?

Thanks in advance!

Br,

Dario

Try the above in 5.1.3(N1)1 code ir after and then see if you can telnet or ping the SVI
