Nexus 5672UP-16G and FC port range

Hi all,

We just got a new Nexus 5672UP-16G running 7.3.1.N1.1 and when we want to convert UP ports to native FC ports, i just discovered that we need to convert ALL 24 ports at once ??

>slot 2

> port 1-4 type fc

gives an error message: "range not supported"

> port 20-24 type fc

gives also an error message that we need to assign from the start

> only port 1-24 type fc

gives no error messages.

Is this a bug in the software or is this by design (as it is not clearly indicated in the documentation)

This behaviour was not the case with the regular 8G FC 5672UP.

regards,

Geert

Just discovered this:

"On a Cisco Nexus 5672UP-16G switch, the Fibre Channel port range can be among 2/1-2/24 or 2/13-2/24."

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus5600/sw/interfaces/7x/b_5600_Interfaces_Config_Guide_Release_7x.pdf

But it seems that you need to assign full ranges (1-24 or 13-24). This was not the case with the 5672UP (8Gbps FC)

For example: if you use 2/1 as Ethernet and 2/13-2/14 as FC, you can never convert 2/2-2/12 to FC anymore ??

you have to convert port from right to left means from last no of port to the first no of port. (port no 24-22) for FC. And from Left to Right from first no. of port to last no of port. (port no 1-24) for ethernet
