Nexus 7K syslog message: %DAEMON-2-SYSTEM_MSG: fatal: no hostkey alg - sshd

Hi everybody!

Did anyone encounter this error on Nexus 7K

%DAEMON-2-SYSTEM_MSG: fatal: no hostkey alg - sshd

It's also the last syslog message on the box for the last 5 days, while the other box has plenty of log messages for the same period, as usual.

Can't seem to find anything on this in documentation.

Ashish,

Thanks, I've already looked into that document and didn't find anything really helpful.

Update: Logging is working on the box, it seems that it just so happened that there were no events to log for the last couple of days.

I've got the same thing on one of my 5k's, and it also has not produced any logs after it happened, while my other 5k has.

%DAEMON-2-SYSTEM_MSG: fatal: Write failed: Broken pipe .Client is 1.1.1.1 ,length of packet causing error 116 116  - sshd[19877]

1.1.1.1 is prime infrastructure

Hi Radovan,

%DAEMON-2-SYSTEM_MSG: fatal: no hostkey alg

This message means that some specific SSH client is trying to connect with

the Nexus device however there is any kind of script that is not compatible

and it is causing those error messages.

or in other way of saying-

A script running on your nms server  can trigger a ssh session to the nexus

boxes. Some kind of algorithm from the server sent to the nexus box generating these

messages.

"The message seem to have been harmless."

Also check the following bugs.
