Hey All,
Wanted to see if anyone could help me. I was given a pair of Cisco Nexus 3172PQ switches for my lab. The only issue is I am not familiar with NXOS. I have some experience with IOS but none with NXOS so I am having a hard time with the configuration. I am trying to link the switches to my router and setup VSS since from what I understand these switches do not use stack cables like others do. Any help or advice is appreciated

Hello @terrence278
Nexus don't support VSS but VPC instead.

Yes friend'
You mention VSS and nexus use vPC and I think the issue is you dont have ack. About some limitations of vPC when it connect to l3 device.
So as start check this doc.
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/ip-routing/118997-technote-nexus-00.html
You must be careful when and when not use vpc-vlan for connect vpc nexus to l3 device.

The Cisco Nexus 3172PQ switches run NX-OS, which is different from IOS but has a similar feel once you get used to it. A key point: these switches don’t support VSS like Catalyst switches. Instead, they use a feature called vPC (Virtual Port Channel) to logically link two switches, allowing for redundancy without stacking cables. It’s ideal for data center setups.
To connect them to your router, just configure the interfaces and VLANs as you would in IOS, and for redundancy or multi-link support between the switches, look into setting up vPC.
