Hi guys;
One of a vPC pair of Nexus 5K turned off by apparently a hardware/power failure. We recieved the RMA.
One question: in order to reestablished the vPC new pair member, the configuration of the failed Nexus must be applied to the new switch including the FEX's interfaces right?

Hi,
Yes, that is correct. You need to apply the same config from the bad switch to the new one in order for vPC to come up and work correctly.

Hi Reza and thanks for your reply;
What are the commands for pre-provisioning the FEX's?
If there is a mismatch in configs, would the FEX be disconnected or interfaces will be disconnected?
Thanks again for your support.

Hi,
If the FEX is connected to only one 5672 switch than there will be no mismatch, but if the FEX is dual homed to both 5672 switches than will see mismatch unless you configure both switches exactly the same.
What are the commands for pre-provisioning the FEX's
Not sure what you are asking. The commands should be the same for both switches. So, you can just copy and paste the fex config from one switch to another.

Hello Reza;
Will the new switch accept the FEX's interfaces configuration by just copy/paste?
Thanks for your great support.

Hi,
Yes, that should not be an issue. Whatever config you have on the working switch should apply to the new one. There are just a few commands to configure the new switch to work with the existing fex.

Excellent.
Which should be those few commands?
Thanks again.

Something like this
interface Ethernet1/5
switchport mode fex-fabric
fex associate 120
channel-group 120
interface port-channel120
switchport mode fex-fabric
fex associate 120

Ok. Basically its just to copy/paste the damaged siwtch config into the new one.
Do you recommend to configure first and then reconnect all the interfaces (vPC and FEX up-links)?
Thanks.

Yes, put the config on the switch first and than connect vpc, FEX, etc..
