no shut down error on port (Port fails POST in loopback test)

error come when i reboot the switch or when no shut the port

"Port fails POST in loopback test"

can any body explain what that mean.

is there any hardware fault?

any suggestion will be highly appreciated

Yes there could be issue with the hardware.

Could you post the output of show post?
