Not able to ping pc from Switch

Hi Expert,

we  created one vlan 72 & SVI 72 (ip 172.26.72.252) on 6509 switch . we have connected 3750 switches to that 6509 switch using trunk.

There is no access-list applied to vlan , also windows firewall is also off. we are not able to ping any pc in Vlan 72 from 6509 , but pc's can ping default gateway.we can ping any pc in another Vlan ( Vlan 65, Vlan 66) from 6509 switch.

I am just confused what is the issue. Please help me to solve this issue.

  Where is the default gateway on the pc nic cards pointed ?  The nic config for the default gateway  should be pointed to  172.26.72.252.

Hi Glen,

I have given the default gateway correct ( 172.26.72.252) , That's why users are able to access there applications.

Do you have vlan 72 created on the switches trunked to the 6500 switch

?

You don't have to create vlan interfaces, but I think you must create a vlan 72 statement on each switch so the tagged traffic will go over the trunk properly.
