I have a RV042 Dual WAN router. What I would like to be able to do is to direct a computer on my network to access one particular WAN. For example, WAN1 is a DSL line and WAN2 is a cable line. I would like to direct a computer on our LAN to access the cable line always, even though I have Smart Link Backup set to WAN1. Is this possible? I have another question, but I will address that in another post.

This is easy if the router supports PBR (policy based routing), but I don't think thats available on this router.
Having siad that I've never use one of these before. From the web page management, if you click on Advanced Routing, what options are there?
I have to say the documentation available for the linksys stuff isn't that overwhelming....(or good)...

I don't think it supports PBR. On the Advanced Page, I have
Working Mode: Gateway.
RIP: Disabled
Receive RIP Versions: (grayed out)
Transmit RIP Versions: (Grayed out)
Then there is a static routing box with Destination IP, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Hop Count and Interface (LAN, WAN1, WAN2/DMZ)

Not looking good I'm afraid...no source routing, no PBR...
Maybe someone with more knowledge of these routers has another idea like put the PC in a DMZ and make the DMZ default route the cable line...
It's an idea..

Ian,
Thank you very much for trying to help me with this thing. Greatly appreciated.

No worries mate. Gald to try and help...
...but my idea above still stands. You can create a DMZ on your router...do you have another interface? Anyway you put the PC in question in this DMZ and allow all IP traffic (cos its not really a DMZ, just another VLAN in your case) and make the default gateway for said DMZ/VLAN the cable interface. Should be possible....
Good luck matey,
Ian

It can be accomplished using the "protocol binding" feature on the RV0xx routers. The config can be found under the System Management>Dual WAN tab, where you can bind all traffic from PC1 to WAN1.
