Open Caveat CSCtn11683 on Switch 3750X

Hi All,

There is a open caveat CSCtn11683 on Cisco Catalyst Switch 3750X. In Cisco switch IOS release note, this is how this bug is being documented.

==============================

CSCtn11683 (Catalyst 3560-X and 3750-X)

A Catalyst 3560-X or 3750-X switch port might stop forwarding traffic.  The packet counters increment for sent packets, but not for received  packets.

The workaround, to bring up the port, is to save the configuration and to restart the switch.

===============================

By searching Cisco Bug ID Tool, it shows the following information.

===========================

Apparently this bug has been for a while since it was found. In the latest IOS image release 15.0(1)SE, Cisco has not come out any solution. I am wondering if anyone knows about this bug and how soon Cisco will come out a real solution to fix it.

Thanks,

Roger

Hi Roger,

This caveat is still open in IOS 15.0(1)SE.  It has not been resolved.

We ran into it and are pursuing it with much interest via a different avenue.  Have some information saying that it may be fixed soon.  I can't access that bug ID any longer (which concerns me).  This is a pretty big deal for us.

Thanks for the reply. This issue is a big concern for us as well. We are holding any further puchase on this type model before Cisco comes out a permanent solution.

Regards,

Roger

It is about to be fixed,but fix will be available only in next major release(15.0(2)SE),and the maintenance build for 12.2(55)SE,which will be 12.2(55)SE5..Timelines for both of them have not been final yet,but 12.2(55)SE5 should come out pretty soon.
