Open port 1723 and forward to server IP address

Hi everyone,

So I'm 16 and I've recently taken over IT for my parent's company and their old IT company gave me basically nothing to go off so I had to manually find all the passwords to the servers and everything but now I need to open port 1723 to allow for a SBS2011 VPN.  I've gotten onto the console through PuTTY but now need to find the command to open that port and forward it to the IP address of the server.

When I try to enable the VPN in the SBS2011 manager it says "the server cannot open ports on the router.  You must manually open port 1723 and point it to the IP address of the server."

Can someone please help me out with this?

it means there is another device in the connection between the SBS2011 and the internet connection from your provider

you need to locate that device and do the configuration there
