OSF Config

I am trying to create and OSPF route,  I think I have it right, but I can't ping and the routing table is not updated.

Here is what I have:

Cisco 2821 - 192.168.0.119

router ospf 1

network 10.0.0.1 0.0.0.255 area 0

Cisco 2621 - 10.0.0.1

router ospf 1

network 192.168.0.119 0.0.0.255 area 0

Both interface (fe0/0) are connected to a switch on vlan1

From what I have learned, I believe this should work, what do I have wrong?

Hi Jonathan,

This will never work unless OSPF peer are in same subnet.

Thanks,

Hi Jonathan,

are you trying to run OSPF between those two routers on those networks? You know it won't work unless they are on the same subnet, right?

Or these network statements are pointing towards LANs? Can you post more detailed config or topology details, please?

Thanks.

Best regards,

Jan

2821

FE 0/0 --- > 192.168.1.119   (Home LAN)

FE 0/1 --- > 192.168.0.119   (Lab LAN)

2621

FE 0/0 ---> 10.0.0.1 (Voice Gateway)

CUCM 7

192.168.0.252

I want to make the 2621 the voice gateway for the CUCM7, and I wanted to do that with a different subnet, the 10.0.0.0/24.  I thought OSPF would allow me to connect the two networks, what would be the best way to connect the two with out changing the subnets?

Hi Jonathan,

This will never work unless OSPF peer are in same subnet.

Thanks,

I don't know what I was thinking...I got it now...
