Packet loss between 3560 and 2960 Switches

Hi everyone,

The following image shows part of our network. We got a problem as follows: Sometimes, we can ping Client 1, but we can't ping Client 2 from the 2960 Switch. But, at the same time, we can ping both clients, 1 and 2, from the 3560 Switch. Both clients are covered by the same AP and follow the same route to get to the 3560 Switch. This problem is happening just sometimes and with some of the clients, not all of them. All switches, APs, links and clients are in the same network (native VLAN = 1). I would appreciate any ideas you can bring about what could be happening. Thanks.

Hi,

Can you post the output of "sh run" from the 2960?

HTH

Hi Reza,

Here there is. The Gi0/24 port is the port who links the 2960 Switch with the 3560 Switch.

Hi,

The config looks good. For testing, can you simply configure the port on the 2960 and the 3560 as follows:

Also, is the 3560 the gateway for vlan 1?

interface GigabitEthernet0/24
description Link EBR-03
switchport mode trunk
media-type rj45

And test again

HTH

Hi,

I'll do as you say, then I'll check if the problem remains. About the gateway, the 3560 switch isn't the gateway, the Gateway is a router, which is placed in another part of our network.
