Hello Experts,

We have a 6500  where we configured a PBR on one SVI  as discribed on the file attached,

when make the traceroute from the server we see that the PBR is working very well  ( trafic go through GW2 )

for test purpose we created an SVI 20  on Access swtich : when we made a trace route from Access SW with source SVI 20 the 6500 don't apply the PBR for this kind of traffic. ( traffic go through default GW  GW1) !!!!

Thanks for your help

Hi,

Most small switches with basic license don't support PBR.  For example; if you are using a 3560 or 3750 with IP base license, it will not support PBR.  You would need IP services license to do PBR.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer,

The PBR is applayed on the 6500 SVI 20 .

when we made the traceroute from the server ( IP@ : 10.10.12.100 ) we see that the GW is corrcet PBR worked very well.

when we made the trace from Aceess Switch ( trace source is 10.10.12.2) the traffic follow the default path!!! PBR not applayed !!!.

Thanks for the clarification

Can you post the PBR config from the 6500?

Hi,

here you are :

access-list 100 permit ip 10.10.12.0 0.0.0.255 10.10.15.0 0.0.0.255

route-map PBR_NET15 permit 10

  match ip address 100

  set ip next-hop 10.10.14.1

int vlan 20

ip address 10.10.12.1 255.255.255.0

ip policy route-map PBR_NET15

Kind regards

Khalid

I met a similar problem as this. The PBR doesn't work as expected. It's overided by static route.

Just posted a question and hope can find answers
