Hi, fellows
well, i've a specific scenario that from one end of my network i can ping other end but i can't do traceroute....
anyone have some idea?

Hello,
ICMP and Traceroute from a Windows workstation are based on ICMP packets but their specific code for the reply is different so I would considering making sure in the path the ICMP Time Exceeded is being allowed.

hi guys,
No i won't solve my problem. :( before windows traceroute or cisco traceroute i have to solve why i have ping from one windows pc and not from one linux pc.
in any case, thanks a lot for your help.

Just to add to Julio comment - I think you have to understand how "windows like tracert" works and how for example "cisco traceroute" works - when you know that then you will solve your problem...more on:
