I try to continious ping from my PC to router (ping -t) i found that after specific duratin some packets are lossed (one or two packets) then the ping still normall for another duration after that duration the problem occure again.
I tried to ping the router from switch involved in this network also the same problem occure.
Note: I do not find any bug related this hardware or software of this router model.
any one can help me what is the problem and how can I recover it?????????????????

What type of router or switch is that?
Some of the newer devices like the Nexus series have COPP, witch only let certain amount of ping packets hit the CPU.

they are cisco router and cisco switch
packet size 1024
cpu process max is 30% and it is less to occure

Hi Ibrahim,
I would appreciate if you could add more information to this post of yours. For example, as Reza said in the previous post, Nexus switches have Control Plane Policing and if in case your PING's are destined to the Nexus switch, it is an expected behaviour to see packet drops in a regular pattern. It only affects the ICMP traffic that hits the control plane, but the flow through traffic must work fine.
For us to help you further, could you answer the following queries?
* Could you briefly mention the topolgy of your network?
* Where is your PC connected? On which port and on which switch, which model?
* What is the VLAN of your PC? What is the default gateway and where is the default gateway?
* Is your connected switch a Layer 2 switch or is it working as a Layer 3 switch as well?
* Is there a regular pattern in the PING drops?
* Does the packet traverses through multiple L3 hops? If so, between which 2 devices you see the PING to drop?
* Are you trying to PING a router from the PC? If so what is the model and which interface are you trying to PING?
* How is the switch connected to the said router?
* Do you have any other switchs connected to the router and do you still see the drops when you try to PING from there as well?
* Did you see any High CPU during the time you saw those PING drops?
There are much more clarification required and additional queries might pop in the due course of action. We need the show tech outputs of the respective devices. There are multiple reasons due to which a PING can drop. Few of them are:
* High CPU.
* Output drops on the egress interface.
* Input drops on the ingress interface.
* Oversubscription of a line card, if any.
* Control Plane Policing (CoPP)
* Flapping interfaces
* QoS
etc.
Moreover, we would prefer a LIVE troubleshooting of this issue, if you need a much quicker resolution. I would suggest you to get a TAC case opened and our engineers will be definitely helping you out in this regard.

1- the topology is
edge switch connected to core switch 6500
this core switch connected to ASA firewall
this ASA firewall connected to switch 2960
this 2960 connected to router (which has the problem)
this 2960 switch used to expand the router physical interface interface only.
2- my PC connected directly to the core switch 6500
3-my vlan is vlan1
4- my switch act as layer 2 only.
5- I tried to ping the IP of the physical interface and another time tried to ping the loopback interface, both times the problem occcured.
6-the cpu process max 30% and less to be that
