Hi, everyone!
Cusotmer currently insisted that the ping from their NMS/EMS has failed sometiems to get response from host.
However, the ping from our PC or server1 does not have any ping loss.
By capture from host, the weird thing is ping from customer NMS/EMS to host goes through HSRP standby,
and the ping from server1 to host goes through HSRP active. I would like to know this is normal or not???
*Host gateway ip address is HSRP virtual ip address.
Cisco HSRP Active ip address : 38.137.2.2
Cisco HSRP Standby ip address : 38.137.2.3
Cisco HSRP Virtual ip address : 38.137.2.1
Host : 38.137.2.99/24 (GW: 38.137.2.1)
NMS/EMS(customer) : 38.125.255.78
Server1 : 38.123.80.98
Capture file from Host with server1 shows;
Ethernet Src : Cisco_ae:31:01 (HSRP Active MAC address) Dst: our host MAC
Capture file from Host with customer EMS/NMS shwos;
Ethernet Src : Cisco_ae:28:01 (HSRP Standby MAC address) Dst: our host MAC
Many Thanks!
