hello
there are two 3550 connected using the fa 0/1 port and althought i can ping one another throught interface vlan1 , i cant ping to the interface fa0/1 from the vlan1 using extended ping. also i cant see any routing update in the routing table.
can anybody help ?

can u ping 100.100.100.1 from that host? whts default gateway configured on ur host?it should be 192.168.12.5

Can you modify your RIP environment with Version 2 and disable auto-summary ?
For instance:
router rip
version 2
network 100.0.0.0
network 192.168.12.0
network 192.168.30.0
network 195.167.73.0
no auto-summary
on both routers

i was thinking it would be easy to connect two 3550 with routing but i can understand why its so complecate.

as per ur config,ip address 192.168.12.25 belongs to wht? host connected fa0/3 of Mpoumpoulinas42? or anything else??
if host then whts configured dg?
first try normal ping whether it is pinging.
let us know the results.

yes , host 192.168.12.25 belongs into a switch connected at fa0/3 ....normal ping respond 5/5.

It should be but it is nt :) this maching connected to the internet via another adsl router ...thanks
