Pinging a Device directly connected to the Cisco Switch

The Network is 10.14.14.0 /23. I have a device connected to my Cisco switch that is sitting in VLAN1 with an IP address 198.168.5.55(Example). The point is that I know the IP of this rogue device. And I need to be able to ping it.  Is there a way to do this?

Based on your setup you will not be able to ping.

Hi,

Is SG 500 acting as L3? It has the capability of inter vlan routing.

In that case on the PC you are on, change the gateway to use that of SG500 interface vlan IP address.

Where is the gateway for the other vlan?

Windows firewall blocks pings, so if the rouge device has it on, you will have difficulty to ping. You can check the arp on the gateway and trace to the port it is attached for that subnet and check if it active.

Thanks
