Hi all,
I have a problem with the PoE extender we intend to purchase for a project.
When I connect this to a 3560/70 or even 2960 switches, the below logs are showing; It is working fine with cisco small business model switches.
*Mar 2 02:21:14.205: %ILPOWER-7-DETECT: Interface Fa0/1: Power Device detected: IEEE PD
*Mar 2 02:21:14.205: %ILPOWER-5-INVALID_IEEE_CLASS: Interface Fa0/1: has detected invalid IEEE class: 7 device. Power denied
*Mar 2 02:21:14.700: %ILPOWER-7-DETECT: Interface Fa0/1: Power Device detected: IEEE PD
*Mar 2 02:21:14.700: %ILPOWER-5-INVALID_IEEE_CLASS: Interface Fa0/1: has detected invalid IEEE class: 7 device. Power denied
PoE extender Make: Interlogix POE201-EX.
If anyone have encountered similar issues, please help.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
No responses yet.
Any troubleshooting guidelines I could use.?
Why I am confused is it's working with cisco small business switches and not with the standard 3750 or 2960 switches..
Any leads will be much appreciated.
Thanks and Regrds,
Fazil

Hi all,
Did I post the query in the forum or something?

I had a similar issue with a TRENDnet PoE Repeater/Extender. It said is was capable of PoE+. It would only draw 15.4 watts. I added the following config at the interface level:
power inline port 2-event
The port started seeing the extender and drawing 30 watts after that. The AP's worked fine. The extender uses 6 watts which leaves 24 watts for the AP. Plenty for a 3702E.
