Hello,
I am working for a voice project now. Unfortunately the PoE feature is not working in my switch Module.
When I connect to my cisco IP phone, it doesn't provide the power.
What will be the cause? Do I need to configure for PoE?
Appreciate your Help!
Sincerely,
Andrew

Andrew,
Call "sh inventory" or "sh diag" and check that module PoE status.
You should check power supply also where as PoE or AC.
HTH.

From what I read in the configuration guide, power should be enabled by default.
The command to configure is: power inline {auto [max max-wattage] | never | static [max max-wattage]}
You may try " sh power inline" to get an idea of what might be wrong.
Referring to the first link, the docs for configuring the module are those for the 2960:

Oh I see. Mine is AC power supply.
NAME: "C2911 AC Power Supply", DESCR: "C2911 AC Power Supply"
So, I have to change it to PoE power supply.
Thanks a lot.
Cheer!

Hi Andrew,
How did you change the config to PoE mode from AC? Would you be ablle to share?
My router also shows:
NAME: "C2911 AC Power Supply", DESCR: "C2911 AC Power Supply"
but cant figure out how to change it to PoE.
Thanks
