Greeting All,
I have a open discussion with my team, we are trying to figure out, how to populate layer 3 vlan into layer 2 environment. i have 1 server switch that connected directly to Cat 6500 distribution switch, and cat 6500 connected to Nexus 7k series core switch. the problem we have right now, the server vlan is in Nexus 7k, and we do not want to create layer 2 vlan and use trunk to populate the vlan in nexus 7k into the server switch. is there any way to do this?
Hope someone can help me here.
Thank you in advance.

What about connecting the server switch directly to the 7k - only for this one VLAN?

Hi there,
as we need to setup the redundancy for the server, and the hardware limitation of the server switch, we cannot connect directly to the NX 7k. we have multiple server vlan that sit in 7k.
thanks for your response.

Hi,
just an idea:
What about using the private VLAN feature somehow?
It would definitely be much more complicated than simply using a trunk between the switches, I guess.
Best regards,
Milan
