Hello
I have in production state a nexus with a bunch of port-channel running. I have a serious doubt about performance regarding load-balancing on my port-channels.
NX5596-1# sh port-channel load-balance
Port Channel Load-Balancing Configuration:
System: source-dest-ip
Port Channel Load-Balancing Addresses Used Per-Protocol:
Non-IP: source-dest-mac
IP: source-dest-ip source-dest-mac
I would like to change the load-balancing method to src-dst-mac. I understand that this change is global. Will it be disruptive ?
Thanks

Hello Rodo,
Yes, it is global ( you can only have assigned one method to the entire Switch)
This will not be disruptive as it will change the new connections across the Nexus platafform, it will not break anything,

Julio

Hi Rodo
Did your performance change to the better? I just changes to source-dest-ip because we use ESXi 5.0 hosts with port-channels where the wmware dvs is set to ip hash.
